RECX-22 sharply increases on spurt in LNG caused by sense of oversupply views: week to Sep 22

The Rim Energy Composite Index-22 (RECX-22) average for the week to Sep 22 was at 98.36, up 3.28 points from the previous week. Strong crude hiked all product prices.


The overall domestic index gained by 1.55 points to 90.19. Kerosene jumped by 2.85 points. Amid a low stock, strong intension to build stocks towards a peak winter season sent kerosene higher.


The overall import index spurted by 5.11 points to 100.34. Liquefied natural gas (LNG) soared by 19.83 points owing to firm demand from South Korea and a lack of spot cargoes with bullish sentiment ahead of a peak demand season.


The overall export index rose further by 3.19 points to 104.54. Benzene strengthened by 3.23 points on firm benzene prices in US and strong styrene monomer.
