Singapore inaugurates IEA Regional Cooperation Center
The Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW) was held in Singapore from Oct 21 to 25, sponsored by the country's Energy Market Authority (EMA). On the first day, the opening ceremony of the International Energy Agency (IEA) Regional Cooperation Center in Singapore was held. This is the IEA's first office outside of its headquarters in Paris, France.
The IEA has 31 member countries and is established for the purpose of solving international energy issues. Further, Amin H. Nasser, the president and CEO of Saudi Aramco, gave a speech at the ceremony. He stated that renewable energy was not available at a price that countries around the world could afford, and that it would take time to promote decarbonization.
