New energy capacity at the Hebei North Clean Energy Base, a major clean energy site in China, has exceeded 50 mil kW. In 2023, wind and solar energy capacity rose by 11.87 mil kW, that is, an increase of 32% on year.

The Hebei North Clean Energy Base is located near high power demand areas including Beijing, Tianjin and Tangshan and is also a major channel for power moving from the west to the east and from the north to the south of the country.

In recent years, new energy capacity in North Heibei has been rising steadily. The North Hebei power grid generated 82 billion kWh of electricity from new energy in 2023, up 14.7% on year and accounting for 51% of the total amount of electricity produced by the grid.
