According to data released by Japan Petrochemical Industry Association on Thursday, production of ethylene in December 2023 was 477,600mt, down 0.9% on year, but up 1.9% on month. The operation rates of ethylene plants were at 80.4%, down 1.0 points on year and up 3.7% points from the previous month. No plants conducted turnaround in December 2023, November 2023 and December 2022. Production in 2023 was 5.31 mil mt, down 1.7% on year.
