China power generation in Dec up 9.1% on year
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, China's power generation in December was 727.7 billion kWh, up 9.1% year-on-year and rising 2.3% faster than last month. The average daily power generation was 23.47 billion kWh, up 2.07 billion kWh month-on-month. In 2020, the total power generation reached 7.417 trillion kWh, an increase of 2.7% over the previous year.
The growth rate of thermal power, wind power and solar power generation accelerated in December and the growth rate of nuclear power generation turned from negative to positive. The growth rate of hydropower generation was the same as last month. Compared to the same period last year, thermal power generation increased by 9.2%, wind power by 7.1%, solar power by 8.9%, nuclear power by 6.2% and hydropower by 11.3%.
