India to convert one third of trucks to LNG trucks by 2030
The government in India is promoting fuel switching to LNG for trucks for land transport. The government will target to convert one third of the country's trucks to LNG trucks by 2030 in its shift from diesel to LNG. To encourage existing trucks to switch fuels, the government is considering making it mandatory for one-third of new trucks to be LNG-fueled. The government plans to raise the share of natural gas in the energy mix to 15% by 2030 compared to around 6% at present, targets virtually zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2070. |
