Royal Vopak supplies bio-bunker fuel with ISCC in UAE
Royal Vopak supplied bio-bunker fuel oil at the Fujairah port in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in February this year. The company is the world's leading independent storage provider and is involved in logistics, storage and terminal operations of chemical and petroleum products. Its subsidiary Vopak Horizon Fujairah supplied B24 bio-bunker fuel oil with International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC) to a ship this time. It was reported to be first time that bio-bunker fuel with on ISCC was supplied in the country. B24 supplied by Vopak Horizon Fujairah is a blend of 24% of FAME (Fatty Acid Methyl Ester) with VLSFO (Very Low Sulfur Fuel Oil). It is expected to sharply reduce carbon dioxide emissions compared to traditional bunker fuel oil. Royal Vopak operates 32 oil terminals all over the world. The UAE announced that the country is supporting the move towards net-zero emissions by 2050. |
