Port Klang container volume up 4.1% on year, surpasses Hong Kong

Port Klang in Selangor, Malaysia handled 14.64 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in 2024, up by 4.1% on year. The handled volume surpassed Hong Kong and entered the world's top 10. Port Klang's ranking had reportedly been 13th in 2022 and 11th in 2023. The transport ministry in the country expects that the container volume handled at the port will expand to 14.98 mil TEUs in 2025. The capacity of the port is scheduled to double by 2028 due to terminal expansion. |
