Statistics from the China Electricity Council indicates that since the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025), the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of the country's concentrated solar power (CSP) industry has reached 11.7%, significantly higher than the global growth rate of 4.24%. During the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030), China's CSP industry will further enter a period of rapid development, and by 2030, the total installed capacity is expected to reach about 15 mil kW. CSP is an important component of the new power system, possessing unique advantages such as energy storage, regulation, and grid support. Latest data shows that as of the end of June 2026, China has 24 completed and operational CSP projects with a total installed capacity of 2.1 mil kW, ranking second globally. Projects under construction are also progressing rapidly. The country currently has 26 CSP projects under construction, with an installed capacity of 3.2 mil kW, more the scale of those already in operation.
