A Japanese trading house Marubeni announced on Apr 13 that it would construct the 9,950kW Ishikari Area Biomass-fired Power plant in Hokkaido. It would use domestic wood chips as fuels. A Japanese constructor Taisei Co would also invest in the project. They would start the construction in November 2023 and was scheduled to start operations in January 2026.
