The Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM) has decided to extend the temporary listing of LNG futures contracts for three years. TOCOM received the approval of extension from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the supervising agency of TOCOM, on Apr 1. The LNG futures contract started trading on a trial basis for three years starting in April 2022; however, the contract suffered from the thin trading volume, making TOCOM difficult to file for the permanent listing this time. TOCOM will focus on measures to attract more players in the market to achieve permanent listing three years later.
