Asahi Kasei, Mitsui Chemicals and Mitsubishi Chemical announced on Sep 1 that they established a limited liability partnership (LLP) to achieve carbon neutral and optimization of production by 2030 at two ethylene plants owned by these the companies in western Japan.

The new LLP that was named Setouchi Ethylene LLP was established on Aug 19. The capital was 1.50 mil yen and this was paid by the three companies equally. In addition to carbon neutral and optimization of production, including reduction of production capacity in the future, they will also consider establishment of a joint company to operate their ethylene plants together.
