KEPCO's Mihama nuke power station deviates from limit conditions for operation
|
Kansai Electric Power Co (KEPCO) announced on Oct 24 that the MW No. 3 unit (the pressurized water reactor, or PWR) at its Mihama nuclear power station had deviated from the limit conditions for operation, in which the control valve could not be closed at around 9:19AM on the day during the experiment to activate the exhaust fan. As a result, KEPCO declared "the deviation from the limit conditions for operation" and halted the experiment. As of now, KEPCO is investigating what caused the trouble. Other than that part, no irregularity was found at the No. 3 unit, including environments around the power station.
