No.3 unit at YONDEN's Ikata nuke power station extends restart again to Dec 27 and onwards
|
It was confirmed that Shikoku Electric Power Co (YONDEN) delayed again the restart of power supply generated from the 890 MW No. 3 unit at its Ikata nuclear power station, located in Ikata Town, Nishi-Uwa County, Ehime Prefecture, to Dec 27 and onwards. This was because water leakage was found from the air vent pipe in the main steam line during the maintenance. After the inspection, YONDEN found the cracks with 35 millimeters at the pipe, which was already replaced. The unit was initially scheduled to restart on Dec 25; however, a glitch in the air conditioning refrigeration forced the unit to put off the restart on Dec 26 once.
