No.6 unit at Kashiwazaki-Kariwa nuke power station connects to power grid on Feb 16

Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings (TEPCO) started commissioning the 1356 MW No. 6 unit (ABWR = Advanced Boiling Water Reactor) at its Kashiwazaki-Kariwa nuclear power station, located in Kashiwazaki City in Niigata Prefecture, at 02:55 on Feb 16. Then after the confirmation of normal operation in the commissioning, it connected multiple power generators in the unit to the same power grid at 22:00 on the same day. TEPCO disclosed that the outputs from the generators reached 285,000kW as of 15:30 on Feb 17; it planned to increase output to 50% (over 650,000 kW) of the operable capacity of the generators in the early morning on Feb 18.
