Asahi Kasei Mitsubishi Chemical Ethylene Corp (AMEC) started reducing operations of the 567,000mt/year ethylene unit at its Mizushima plant on Wednesday, a company spokesperson told Rim Intelligence. It was in order to avoid complete shutdown of the unit caused by raw materials depletion. The scale of the production cuts was not disclosed.
