Typhoon 10 Maysak forms Sep 3, tracks north South China Sea

The Japan Meteorological Agency announced on Sep 3 that Typhoon No. 10 (Maysak) occurred. The central pressure was 994 hPa as of 09:45 JST on Sep 3. The maximum wind speed near the center was 20 meters, and the maximum instantaneous wind speed was 30 meters. It is currently moving west near the South China Sea. It is expected to continue moving north and approach South China around Sep 5, but is expected to change into a tropical depression on Sep 6. It is expected to have a low direct impact on Japan.
