Oil Spill in Singapore; bunker delivery and loading operation conducted normally

Following the collision between the dredger and the bunker barge on Jun 14, spilled oil collections were underway, mainly at the Pasir Panjang Terminal in Singapore. Along with this, while there was some temporary disruption of bunker delivery, most operations returned to normal as of Jun 18. There were no restrictions on container and oil product loadings. However, monitoring was ongoing to check for oil film adherence on vessels at the terminal where the collision occurred and the anchorage area near East Park Court where oil contamination was widely observed. If oil film adhesion is seen on vessels, they would be allowed to enter no terminals unless the vessels are cleaned as of Jun 18. This was applied to bunker barges as well, sources in local bunkering business said.

Market sources noted that while there was congestion, bunker barge operations were not delayed for more than three days.
