Fire occurs at Austtralia Geelong refinery causing alkylation unit shutdown

A fire occurred at the 120,000b/d Geelong refinery in Australian operated by Viva Energy from late Apr 15 to Apr 16. According to market sources, the alkylation unit was reportedly shut down. It was also heard that operations of the residue fluid catalytic cracker (RFCC) were affected. A Singapore-based analyst pointed out that "Throughput of the crude distillation unit might decrease, and additional gasoline imports would be necessary." |
