According to data released by Japan Petrochemical Industry Association on Feb 20, production of ethylene in January was at 465,600mt, down 2.3% on year and down 0.2% on year since some ethylene facilities were shut down due to malfunctions. Operation rates of ethylene facilities that were in operation in January were at 80.6%, down up 0.3 points on year and up 2.0 points on month. Turnaround of ethylene facilities was not conducted in January, December 2024 and January 2024.
