According to data released by Japan Petrochemical Industry Association on Jun 18, production of ethylene in May was at 420,100mt, up 5.8% year-on-year but down 6.8% month-on-month. Production volumes changed along with turnaround of facilities. Turnaround took place at one company's one facility in May 2025 and three companies' three facilities in May 2024. In April 2025, no turnaround took place. Operation rates of ethylene facilities that were in operation in May were at 76.8%, down 3.6 points year-on-year and down 1.8 points month-on-month.
