According to data released by Japan Petrochemical Industry Association, production of ethylene in January was at 433,700mt, down 6.9% from the same month last year since operation rates of ethylene facilities were lower. Compared to the previous month, production was down 5.2%. Operation rates of ethylene facilities that were in operation in January were at 75.8%, down 4.8 points from the same month last year and down 1.2 points from the previous month. In January 2026, one company's one ethylene facility underwent turnaround. In January 2025 and December 2025, no facilities underwent turnaround.
