According to data released by Japan Petrochemical Industry Association on Jul 16, production volumes of ethylene in June were 289,100mt, down 19.1% year-on-year or down 11.1% month-on-month since more ethylene facilities underwent turnaround. In June 2026, three companies' three facilities underwent turnaround, while in May 2026 and June 2025, two companies' two facilities underwent turnaround respectively. Operating rates of ethylene facilities that were in operation in June 2026 were at 66.5%, down 1.6 points month-on-month or down 8.3points year-on-year.
