According to data released by Japan Petrochemical Industry Association on Aug 20, production volume of ethylene in July was 372,400mt, down 3.7% year-on-year. Operating rates of ethylene facilities were lower than the same month last year. Compared to June 2026, production volume increased by 28.5%. The number of days was more while less facilities underwent turnaround. Operating rates of facilities that were in operation in July 2026 were at 69.9%, down 7.7 points from July 2025. Compared to June 2026, rates rose by 3.3points. Two companies' two facilities underwent turnaround in July 2026, three companies' three facilities in June 2026 and two companies' two facilities in July 2025.
