According to data released by Japan Petrochemical Industry Association on Oct 29, production volume of ethylene in September was 371,400mt, down 13.7% year-on-year, due to the impact of turnaround and a fall in operating rates of ethylene facilities. The number of ethylene facilities that underwent turnaround was one company's one facility in August and September 2026. In September 2025, no facilities underwent turnaround. Operating rates of facilities that were in operation in September 2026 were at 70.2%, down 7.3 points year-on-year or down 3.3 points month-on-month.
