Crude/Condensate: May 19-23: China Yulong buys Aug arrival Sepia

Middle East Crude

 In other trade for July-loading Oman, Taiwan's Formosa Petrochemical Corp(FPCC) bought 2mil barrels of July-loading Oman at the prices linked to Dubai through a tender closed on May19. The sellers were two European companies. FPCC held solid demand for Oman as FPCC had purchased 2mil barrels each of Oman via tenders that the company had issued in April to June.

 

Asia Pacific Crude

 In the trade of Brazilian grades for Asia, China's Yulong Petrochemical was said to have purchased 2.0 mil bbls of Sepia for August arrival. The price was said to be at a premium of mid to high $2.00s to July Dated Brent on CFR. Yulong operates a 400,000 barrels per day (b/d) refinery in Shandong in China. Of these, one 200,000b/d crude distillation unit (CDU) was already operating and the company moved to test run of the second CDU early this year. Sepia is a heavy sweet crude with an API gravity of about 27 degrees and about 0.4% sulfur content.

 

African/European/Russian/American Crude

 In tender-related news, Indonesia's state-owned Pertamina issued a condensate buy tender for August arrival to the country's petrochemical firm TPPI. Through the tender that would be closed on Wednesday with offers valid until Friday, Pertamina was trying to buy 600,000barrels for Aug 1-3 arrival and 300,000barrels for Aug 12-14 arrival. Meanwhile, some players such as Briton's Shell would participate in the tender. Shell was likely to offer NWSC for Jul 25-29 loading.
