LNG: Nov 10-14: Oct LNG imports to NEA down 1.4 mil mt on year
|
The International Energy Agency (IEA) forecast in its global energy outlook released on Nov 12 that global LNG demand would grow to 700 mil mt in 2035 from 450 mil mt in 2024, and even expand to 820 mil mt in 2050. EIA attributes the sharp increase to growing power demand mainly from data centers tied to fast digitalization and the era of AI. But there is some concern about an overhang in LNG supply around 2030, and IEA also focuses on the risk that may be caused by investment into new LNG projects.
--FOB Middle East, DES South Asia and the Middle East State-run Angolan LNG sells spot cargoes regularly. The producer closed on Oct 8 and awarded its sell tender for late-October to November delivery to an unknown buyer, but the offered cargo was heard eventually exported to India. The cargo was loaded into 160,400 cubic meter DFDE tanker "Malanje" and discharged at the 17.5 mil/mt year Dahej terminal in India. Angola LNG exports at least two or three cargoes to India every month.
--FOB Atlantic, DES Europe and South America Algeria's state-owned Sonatrach was said to have floated a tender to sell one cargo on an FOB basis for Nov 15 loading out of the 20.8 mil mt/year Arzoo project or the 4.5 mil mt/year Skikda project.
