LNG: Jan 12-16: 4 companies sell prompt lifting cargoes

--DES Northeast Asia

Not a few cargoes were available in the spot market. Australian Ichthys LNG sold a cargo for Feb 5-9 loading from the 8.90 mil mt/year Ichthys project on Feb 5-9 through its FOB sell tender closed on Thursday. Moreover, a sell tender each closed on Wednesday by Kyushu Electric Co Ltd as well as Malaysian state-run Petronas were reportedly awarded. The former sold a Feb 11-18 delivery cargo at about $9.70 and the latter sold a mid-March delivery cargo at flat to the March contract of DES Northeast Asia spot quotations. On top of that, Spanish Repsol was said to have sold a cargo for mid-March delivery at flat to the spot quotations.

--FOB Middle East, DES South Asia and the Middle East

In the market, spot demand from India was stable. State-run Bharat Petroleum Co Ltd (BPCL) closed a buy tender on Thursday for a cargo to be delivered to the 22.50 mil mt/year Dahej terminal on Feb 8, 11 or 16. In addition, state-run Gujarat State Petroleum Corp (GSPC) was also carrying out a buy tender closing on Friday. Through the tender, GSPC was seeking a cargo for Feb 7-15 delivery to the Dahej terminal.

--FOB Atlantic, DES Europe and South America

As some producers in Africa were conducting sell tenders one after another, spot supply from the Atlantic was apparently not tight. Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) closed an FOB sell tender on Wednesday for a cargo to be loaded from the 22.00 mil mt/year Bonny project on Feb 22-28. NNPC could accept bids on a DES basis as well, according to sources. On top of that, state-run Angola LNG also issued a DES sell tender to be closed on Jan 21. Offered in the tender was a cargo from the 5.20 mil mt/year Angola project for February delivery to South America, Europe, Middle East or Southeast Asia including Indonesia for mid-February delivery easternmost. Bids were valid until Jan 22.
