Crude/Condensate: Feb 16-20: Total buys seven cargoes of Upper Zakum
|
In the trade of April-loading Abu Dhabi grades, majors and traders bought Upper Zakum. French TotalEnergies already purchased seven cargoes of Upper Zakum at fixed prices equal to April-loading Dubai since a start of February. British Shell sold three cargoes and PetroChina and European Trafigura each sold two cargoes to TotalEnergies. Similarly, European Mercuria also procured a total of three cargoes for April-loading Upper Zakum at fixed prices equal to April-loading Dubai. PetroChina, Shell and Trafigura sold one cargo each.
African/European/Russian/American Crude Uncommitted cargoes of March-loading Doba changed hands. Sellers such as European Glencore sold a total of three cargoes. Germany's Uniper, France's Total Energies and European Vitol purchased one cargo respectively and the prices were said to have been at discounts of $5 to Dated Brent. March-loading Doba had been offered at discounts in the low $4's to Dated Brent last week. Nevertheless, with freight rates surging, many end-users had been reluctant to buy Doba amid a sense that the value on a delivery basis was expensive. Under such circumstances, sellers had lowered offers in pursuit of buyers.
Asia Pacific Crude In tender related news, Indonesia's TIS Petroleum awarded its sell tender for April-loading. PTT Public Co purchased one cargo each of 110,000 barrels of Indonesian Lalang for Apr 20-25 loading and 200,000bbl of Vietnam's Hai Thach condensate. The awarded prices were unknown. The tender closed at 13:00 Singapore time on Feb 13, with validity until 20:00 on the same day.
